GREETINGS FROM GETTYSBURG RESORT
FROM RICHARD KELLERMANN, Resort Manager
Hello All from Gettysburg, ‘RV having fun yet'?
I know that I use the above saying a bit, but it's really hard not too since we are all about having fun! Summer is now upon us; Memorial Day has now passed and 'officially', in my opinion, Summer Fun begins!! Memorial Weekend was fantastic, very warm; and the pool, I am sure, was a welcoming sight for many. There were a few who questioned if the pool would even be open. Nevertheless we charged ahead thru rain, and early darkness, in addition to other tasks necessary to complete it on time for you. What a team we have!
Joy has been presenting more ideas for fun at the resort. In fact, she will now have an assistant who should be starting mid-June to help Joy take the activities of the resort to the next level.
Newcomer Carrie, our Member Liaison team member, has been meeting a good bit of our family members. Keep reading, in the newsletter she introduces herself and describes a little more about her job here. Be sure to stop by and say 'Hi'.
I personally appreciate the kind compliments we have been receiving this year, both in person and via Facebook! It's really great to see how the hard work of our team is being appreciated and I remember the days when.........well, let me not spoil it. I am sure some of the longtime members know exactly what I mean. We have come a long way and shall continue.
Until next time... happy camping.

GREETINGS FROM PYMATUNING ADVENTURE RESORT
FROM LIZETTE BRADLEY, Resort Manager
Oh My Goodness!!!!! What a month May has been! The Pymatuning staff was so busy getting everything ready for Memorial Day that we didn't even realize how fast our month went by. We went from a staff of 14 to a staff of 38 with more hiring to do. We couldn't keep up with the mowing and weeding due to the extreme mild weather and early warm spring. The boats were put back in the water and "livery" inspections completed. Boat registrations, vehicle registrations, and Department of Agriculture licenses were renewed and completed. The administration of our resort took on a whole new meaning with the amount of paperwork created with member use. The office staff was available for incoming phone calls and to answer questions. Our housecleaning crew is working overtime to keep up with cabin rentals and use of our facilities. The outdoor pool and waterslide opened on Memorial Day weekend. Whew!!
June brings us the beginning of summer on the 20th, and I'm sure many of our members with children still at home will begin their weekend and vacation camping season during this month. For all campers at Pymatuning, please be reminded that our little ones on the campsite roads are very important. The campground speed limit is 5MPH and that includes bicycles, golf carts, and any vehicle. Our speed limits were designed for your safety. Please contact the resort staff if you see violations so that we may address it in a timely manner.
In addition, we are a "pet friendly" resort. Please carry your doggie bags with you and pick up after your pets. All pets are required to be leashed while at the resort, and under the direct control of the pet owner. Please be courteous pet owners and keep your pets quiet and on your own campsite.
We moved the garbage dumpsters to various locations around the resort to make it easier for you to take out your trash. We had to re-locate a couple of dumpsters due to the smell. We apologize for the smell and hopefully in the next two weeks will find a "happy medium" with the final locations.
Although we opened the waterslide for Memorial Day weekend, we only used 3 of the 4 slides for a majority of the weekend. We spent a considerable amount of April and May (weather permitting) sanding and painting the interior of the slides. We did have some problems with the paint and will continue to work on this. It's important that we complete the slides, inside and out, for the 4th of July weekend. Time will fly by. The bumper boats were not open because the pond didn't have enough water for inspection before the weekend began. On May 30th, the final inspection for the bumper boats was completed and they are now open when the water slide area is open. The mini-golf course is being re-vamped, and our goal is to have it open and playable by mid June. We will replace it within the next 2 years. Expect to see changes in the waterpark area each time you visit for the rest of the summer.
Many of you questioned the reservation process that is being introduced and the lack of communication regarding it. Going forward, please contact the Pymatuning office and make a reservation for a campsite. We will do our best to have the paperwork completed and your desired campsite reserved for your use when you arrive. In the past, we would allow you to come in the resort and pick your site, then return the site number to us. In the future, please call us and reserve the site you would like. You each have the ability to make several reservations at a time for camping at Pymatuning. You can reserve your site up to 60 days in advance... In the past, the only time that reservations were made was if you wanted to rent a cabin. Please make your campsite reservation as far in advance as you can if you know you're coming. You're welcome to call us if you don't understand or have confusion about this. This reservation process enhances our ability at the resort to be prepared for your arrival and to know what type of events and crowds we will have here. Our staffing, scheduling, and activities are all based on campsite use.
Another comment received multiple times was regarding price increases. Not so much that we had increases, but that we didn't share those increases with you before you arrived. In an effort to create unity between our resorts, a general guideline for rates has been implemented. Although the price of cabins has gone up, the major comment heard was that the holiday rates and guest rates had an enormous jump from previous rates. Please be sure to ask when you make your reservation for cabins what the rates are so that you won't be surprised when you arrive. In addition, we will still offer group rates at the resort level, so please call us.
In following newsletters, I'll try to address the most commonly asked questions you might have. There were many concerns that were addressed over the Memorial Day weekend, and if you were here thank you for your comments. I am establishing an e-mail and address list for those of you that would like communication in other forms than our on-line newsletter. If you do not have access to a computer, the newsletters are kept in a binder in the office and you're welcome to browse through them when you are here. I may have created more questions than answered them with the information provided above. If so, please feel free to contact us by phone for details. Our phone number is 440-293-7744. The majority of questions can be answered by anyone that answers the phone, but if you need to speak with me, just ask. My normal days off are Monday and Tuesday, and when I'm on duty I may not be in the office but on the resort somewhere. Leave your name and number with the office staff and I'll return your call. I look forward to a wonderful summer filled with fun and good memories. Happy camping to all of you!
RESORT NEWS
Operations, Renovations, Refurbishing, Etc.

- The store has been stocked and specialty foods and ice creams are available.

The waterslide will continue to be painted and landscaping done throughout the next 2 months. Handicapped access to the comfort station is being addressed and we should have a plan in place to resolve some issues by July 4th. The new National laws regarding handicapped pool lifts are being addressed and by the end of summer we should have lifts at both indoor and outdoor pools for our special needs members.
Operations News
The Pymatuning Adventure Staff has added new faces this summer. On July 4th look for the operations staff bulletin board which will be located at the activity center. You can identify the staff on the resort by the royal blue uniform shirt that the majority of them wear daily. If they aren't in a uniform it's likely because they are new and the uniforms haven't been provided yet.
We have staff meetings at least once a month to discuss changes in the operations, introduce new team members, talk about departmental changes, and go over member comments.
Vacation Specials
Special #1: Fourth of July weekend. June 29 - July 1 Members may book a 1 bedroom (6 sleeper park model) at Pymatuning Adventure Resort at regular rates for a 3 night minimum.
Special #2: July 8 - August 30. Book any cabin at Pymatuning Adventure Resort for two nights and get a third night free. Special runs Sunday through Thursday only.
Upcoming Operations, Renovations, Refurbishing, Etc.
- By the end of the camping season, maybe November, we should have a plan on what next year's projects will be. Our staff has developed a one year, three year, 5 year, and 10 year plan. After our first season with Travel Resorts of America we will have a good idea of what each year will include. We have many projects to complete this year that were not on our first year plan.
- Mini-golf course refurbishing should be completed by July 4th.
- Handicapped entrances at comfort station and pools enhanced.

GREETINGS FROM TWIN LAKES RESORT
FROM WADE MASTERS, Resort Manager
Hi all,
What a Memorial Weekend we had! I saw more people here this weekend than I have in a long time. Between the pancake breakfast, cookout, the campfires and the overall good time it was just a fantastic time to be a Twin Lakes member. Thanks to those who helped and to those who just came out to be a part of our Memorial Day celebration.
We are going to try and plan activities every weekend. We would love to hear your ideas. Oh, and if you don't already know; Pat Johnson is our new activities director. She will be planning events for the upcoming year. Good luck Pat, we are looking forward to the fun things you have in store! I would also like to welcome Kathy Richardson to our staff she will be running the office and store. Glad you're here Kathy.
We would be remiss if we didn't remember why we get to celebrate; it's because of the men and women who have laid down their lives and the families who have sacrificed so that we can stand up and declare our freedom. God bless all of you and our heartfelt thanks!
Looking forward to a great year!
Thanks,
Wade
