News From The Campgrounds

Hello to all the Luna Sandies out there!!! 

December has come and gone, 2020 is in the past.  We can all agree that the new year will definitely be better, and we’re glad to see 2021 at Luna Sands. 

During the month of December, we completed the new roof on the main building and store, and also rebuilt the store interior.  That was a project that was caused from a major storm in our area in July of 2020.  So many people had damage to their roofs that we had to wait in line for our turn.  The store was relocated into the clubhouse for the rest of the summer and all check-ins occurred there for the rest of the year. Once the roof work was completed, Lewis, Clarence and Al went to work repairing the interior damage.  The ceiling and all insulation had to be replaced, the salt walls replaced, the floor repaired, and the counter was moved. 

During the month of January, we will complete the store rebuild, and move all the store and registration  back to the original locations.  We also are planning a a “Member Build” project and will need all you carpenters on hand for January 23rd.  We are planning to build a deck and tiki bar at the clubhouse.

Phyllis has planned a COVID style activities and we are still practicing social distance and wearing masks.   We’ll start January with our annual horse derby on January 2nd, a Senior PROM on January 9th (bring your poodle skirts for the 50’s theme party), and a Mardi Gras on January 16th.  Please download CampersApp and keep updated with added activities from that web site.  if you need instructions, just give us a call at 386-775-3996.

Travel Safe, social distance, and wear your masks.   We are all turning the corner on this pandemic and things will get back to normal in several months.  We can see the “light”.  See you soon!

Steve Baldelli, CEO Travel Resorts of America

Steve Baldelli

Steve Baldelli started Travel Resorts in 1986 at the age of 27 after a call from his friend Jim who had found some beautiful property in Pinehurst, North Carolina after a round of golf. Steve flew down from Minnesota to come to see the land and when he got there, there were 12 unfinished RV sites, a lodge, and a hole in the ground that was supposed to be a pool. He fell in love. Steve and his partner had no idea how to run a campground, but he knew he wanted to focus on three things: Taking people out of their normal element, making it close enough to home but far enough away to be a get-away, and making it affordable so all families could enjoy the campgrounds together multiple times a year.

35 years later, Steve has built Travel Resorts into 11 premier RV campgrounds from Florida to New York and now just recently has started venturing into the Midwest!

As a father of 3, an avid wine connoisseur, foodie, and lover of travel, Steve lives a busy adventurous life, but his heart is in providing the best camping memories to his members. You can find him at any of the resorts throughout the year, interacting with members, planting fun ideas in the activities directors’ heads, and always thinking about how to enhance our members’ experience. Because of Steve and his vision, Travel Resorts really is the definition of the Pursuit of Happiness.
