How is it possible that I am writing the last newsletter for 2024? We don’t know about you all, but our team here feels as if we blinked at the beginning of the season and when we opened our eyes, we are now getting ready for Christmas!
The elves here at Sycamore Lodge have been hard at work decorating for this festive month! The Lodge has been sprinkled with Christmas decorations and will finish its transformation on the 1st of December with our “Deck the Halls” activity.
Scheduled activities for the remainder of the month include Christmas Cookies and Games 12/6-12/8 Christmas with Santa at Sycamore 12/13-12/15 and then lastly, our ever-popular New Years Eve Party on 12/31.
Connie had a very successful first year as our Recreational Director! She did an excellent job scheduling and planning activities for all ages and loved every second of it. The wheels in her head are already turning for next season.
One of the biggest undertakings that she did was to head up the “Spooky Hollow” event in October. Our volunteer base was less than half of what we have had in the past but that didn’t stop anyone from believing we could still present the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society with a sizable donation next year. She and her husband Chris led our amazing volunteers across the finish line and made well over $17,000. We couldn’t be prouder of Connie and Chris and our amazing members. Congratulations to everyone who made this possible!
We had our Thanksgiving feast here at Sycamore on November 23. We had 15 turkeys and all the delicious sides you would expect and then some. Always a special day here at Sycamore when we can all get together and give Thanks for all our many Blessings.
The General Store staff is ready to help you find the perfect souvenir and/or Christmas gift to take back with you. All clothing is 75% off through the month of December. Even if you’re not camping, stop in and pick out a shirt or hoodie at a great price for yourself or a loved one.
Be sure to grab a copy of our Guidelines at check in. Please remember the speed limit is 5mph in the resort, all pets must be leashed and cleaned up after and absolutely no aggressive animals are allowed on property. If you bring your personal golf cart, you have to register it at the General Store when you check in. Be sure and bring your Declarations page for proof of insurance.
