“Intention - a mental state where a person commits to a course of action.” At GBR the team meets at the end of the season to discuss the past year and brainstorm for the following season. By December plans have been made for renovations, special projects, general repair/maintenance, and the greenhouse for grounds. Training highlights for the Office Crew are finalized, and the list of themed weekends is booked for Activities. January is the month of Intention, when words on paper become actions on the campground. Already the lodge has received a fresh coat of paint, making the seating areas brighter and more inviting. Pickett cabin has received a new floor, and other cabins have planned makeovers as well.
New seasons bring new faces and for some folks, new titles! Carley is being officially promoted to Assistant Manager! She and James are full of fresh ideas for the Resort and have the whole team excited about the 2025 season! New beginnings sometimes mean saying goodbye to members of our team, which is never easy. Tyler has rejoined her family in Idaho and is pursuing both an internship with a curator at a local museum as well as a BA in Art History. Wally received an incredible opportunity that works better for his family, so he has stepped down as our Maintenance Supervisor, but will still help the team on a part-time basis. There will be some new faces joining our team too, and we can't wait for you all to meet them! Here's to new beginnings and a wonderful 2025 season!
