Another July is here at GBR! Although we have had a wet, rainy start to the season, the clouds have given way to incredibly sunny, HOT days! However, to soothe the heat, our new pool hours are: Adults only 10-11 AM, and regular hours 11 AM-8 PM. Just a reminder, this year we will be doing periodic "adult checks" for children in the pool area. Youths must be 16 or older to be by themselves, and anyone under the age of 16 must have an adult parent or guardian with them that is at least 18 years of age. Give a shout out to the staff for all the hard work in repairs and maintenance for the season!!
Members are taking full advantage of the weather. Between the 4th of July and Bike Week, there is an incredible amount to do in and around Gettysburg. Reenactments are taking place in the area in the first week of July to commemorate the most famous 3-day Battle of the Civil War. And if you're into the rumbly sound of thousands of bikes in town, bike week is right up your alley the second weekend of July!
This time of year, we also want to pass on to everyone that Water conservation is critical. Even though we had two of our three wells repaired last year, July and August put a strain on them. Please be mindful of this as it is the only way we have to ensure enough water for everyone's basic needs. Unfortunately, this means limited hours to our laundry facility (7AM – 4PM) for the months of July and August. Another way to minimize strain on our wells is to fill up your freshwater tank before you come visit and utilize that water when you can. We thank our members in advance for doing their part to make sure water remains available for everyone!
