It's been a very hot summer here at North Shore Landing, and we're lucky to have plenty of ways for our guests to cool down! You can take a refreshing dip in either of our two swimming pools or go for a swim in beautiful Lake Oconee. There's no better way to beat the heat!
We're also excited about the addition of the Freedom Boat Club, which officially opened here over Memorial Day Weekend. Their team has already remodeled our large pool bathhouse, added beautiful new landscaping, and will soon begin building brand-new docks as part of their lease agreement with us. Besides bringing extra monthly income to help improve the park, the Freedom Boat Club team has been fantastic to work with and a great addition to our campground community.
Looking ahead, we've got some exciting July events coming up for the whole family:
🎈 Hot Air Balloon Visit – Weather permitting, we're expecting a hot air balloon to visit the campground next week! Guests will have the chance to see the balloon up close and enjoy tethered rides. Exact times will depend on weather conditions—keep an eye on our social media for updates.
🚗 4th of July Golf Cart Parade – Break out the red, white, and blue! We had a great turnout! Everyone decorated their golf carts and joined us for our annual patriotic parade around the campground. It's always a favorite event for campers of all ages.
🎶 Plus, we'll have live music, karaoke nights, and food trucks visiting throughout the month!
And on a heartwarming note… remember the two baby squirrels we rescued after Hurricane Helene last fall? We're happy to share that they have been successfully released and are now thriving in the wild. They still like to hang out near the Nature Center and get occasional treats from the staff, but they're healthy, happy, and fully enjoy life in their natural home.
