Dear Members & Guests
As we get ready to open for the 2026 season, we want to take a moment to welcome you back to Rushmore Shadows! We are excited for another season of making memories here in the beautiful Black Hills.
Storm Recovery Update
This past December brought some of the strongest windstorms we've ever experienced. The storm caused significant damage throughout the park, including downed trees and impacts to some cabins and common areas.
Since then, our team has been working tirelessly to clean up, repair, and make the park safe for everyone. We've also been incredibly fortunate to have support from staff from our Minnesota parks, along with members who stepped in to lend a hand. Their hard work and dedication have meant so much to us, and we are truly grateful.
What to Expect This Season
As we begin the season, you may notice that some areas of the park are still a work in progress:
- The center of the park remains temporarily closed while we complete electric and water repairs.
- A few cabins are still under construction, and you may see contractors on-site as we continue rebuilding efforts.
- For safety, please avoid any marked work areas.
- The playground and mini golf area will remain closed due to storm damage. We are actively working toward rebuilding these amenities and look forward to reopening them as soon as possible.
Even with these temporary changes, there is still so much to enjoy — peaceful surroundings, beautiful scenery, and time to relax and unwind.
We are committed to making your stay enjoyable while we continue restoring the park. For the latest updates, activities, and happenings around the resort, be sure to follow and check our Facebook page regularly.
We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support. It means more to us than you know, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another great season at Rushmore Shadows.
Warm regards,
– The Rushmore Shadows Team
