Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons — Jim Bishop

November is one of the most beautiful months of the year in Gettysburg. The air is crisp at night but warms in the honey glaze of sunshine during the day. Leaves become flowers of red, gold and bronze and dance in the wind.

Here at the resort, our busy park is winding down, which means seasonal staff are either heading home, or onto their next adventure.

Many of our members are packing up after their last camping trip of the year, and flurries of “travel safely” and “see you next year” echo through the Lodge.

During the day, a cozy fire warms the Lodge; at night campfires illuminate the gravel roads like lanterns.

November is also a time of Thanksgiving. We thank you, our members, for not just all the wonderful memories created this season, but for your support of the GBR Gives Back Program.

We are excited to announce we raised almost $4000 with our Haunted House ‘Time Machine’ theme which will be sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!

Shout out to the Incredible GBR Boo Crew – you guys rocked it!

Once again, we invite members to recognize our Veterans on November 9th and to gather around the tables for a catered Harvest Dinner on November 23rd.

Harvest fest has become a cherished GBR tradition, with an opportunity to rejoice and reflect in Thanksgiving. More details about Harvest fest will be made available and posted on Facebook when available. Enjoy the fall weather!
